GriefShare - Coming to Cokesbury UMC Fall 2010

13-week grief recovery weekly seminar & support group
Room 621 – 9th Avenue Campus
Facilitator: Ross Rembert, Cokesbury member & retired counselor

GriefShare is a ministry for those who are suffering from the loss of a loved one. This ministry is designed to lead those who are dealing with grief to a place of encouragement and restoration through God’s word. God in His Word promises to help us through our mourning.

There will be a fee charged, which helps cover the cost of the participant’s workbook.
Child care will be provided for children through the 5th grade.

GriefShare will be offered in addition to Cokesbury’s Grief Support Group which meets every Tuesday at 4:00pm in our 9th Avenue Campus Library.

Divorce Recovery

Wednesdays beginning September 15, 2010
6:00pm in Room 402 @ Cokesbury’s 9th Avenue Campus

Facilitator: Nancy Worth, has a Masters in Counseling and Psychology, is certified by the State of Florida, and is a veteran in divorce recovery.

Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends by Bruce Fisher is a straight-to-the-heart response to the needs of separation & divorce. Call the church office (850-476-5818) for reservations or more information. Participants are responsible for the purchase of the book (above). Child care will be provided for children through the 5th grade.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren - Support Group

When: Second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
Where: Homewood Suites by Hilton, 5049 Corporate Woods Drive, Pensacola
How Much: Participation is free.

What: This is a new support group specifically for grandparents caring for/raising grandchildren of all ages and other relatives caring for/raising children. Homewood Suites will provide Lewis the Homewood Mascot children's book and toys to those attending. Council on Aging of West Florida will provide dinner through Homewood Suites' evening Manager's Reception featuring light dinner fare and salad bar.

Manna Food Pantries

Street Survival Guide (for Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties in Florida) is an excellent directory of organizations and services for folks that need help. It is a product of the EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless and may be copied, printed, and distributed as widely as possible to assist any homeless or other person in need. EscaRosa asks only that it be distributed with credits and free of charge.
